What Information Do We Collect?
Personal Information: The Site allows customers who are interested in Primate Conservation or its activities to contact Primate Conservation. If you contact Primate Conservation through the Site, we will collect your name and email address and any additional contact information (such as address or telephone number) or educational or academic information that you choose to disclose to us (“Personal Information”).
Aggregate Information: We may employ generally used web tracking technologies, such as cookies that collect anonymous traffic data, in order to collect information such as IP host address, pages viewed, and the manner in which you navigated through the Site, and may aggregate such information in a manner that does not identify any individual ("Aggregate Information").
How Do We Use the Information We Collect?
Personal Information: If you provide Personal Information to us, we may enter such information into our contact management database. We will also enter into our contact management database information about your membership and contributions to Primate Conservation. We will use information about your membership to enable you to access and use portions of the Site available only to members. We may also occasionally use the information in our contact management database to contact you and send you materials regarding Primate Conservation and its activities and your membership.
Aggregated Data: Primate Conservation uses Aggregate Information only in an aggregate form that does not identify the individual user, and only for us to understand the performance of the Site. For example, we may develop Aggregate Information on Site and content usage, such as by keeping count of return visitors to the Site and assessing which pages of the Site are most popular. This allows us to determine which features members like best to help us improve our content and Site, personalize your user experience, and measure overall Site effectiveness.
Legal Exception: Notwithstanding the above, Primate Conservation may use Personal Information and other information collected through the Site to the extent required by law or if in Primate Conservation’s reasonable discretion use is necessary to investigate fraud or any threat to the safety of any individual, to protect Primate Conservation’s legal rights, or to protect the rights of third parties.
What Information Do We Disclose to Third Parties?
Primate Conservation’s Disclosure of Personal Information: Primate Conservation does not sell or rent its mailing list and will not disclose your Personal Information to any third parties except when we have your consent to share the information. However, Primate Conservation reserves the right to disclose any information Primate Conservation collects in connection with the Site, without further notice to you (a) to any successor to Primate Conservation’s non-profit operations as a result of any merger or similar transaction; and (b) to any law enforcement or regulatory authority, to the extent required by law or if in Primate Conservation’s reasonable discretion disclosure is necessary to investigate fraud or any threat to the safety of any individual, to protect Primate Conservation’s legal rights or to protect the rights of third parties.
Anonymous, Aggregated Information: We may disclose Aggregate Information to third parties such as partners and funding sources, to describe our organization and operations, and otherwise to assist and develop Primate Conservation’s operations and goals.
How Can You Opt Out of Use and Disclosure of Your Information?
If you would like your Personal Information removed from our mailing list or database, please contact us. In the event of any such removal, Primate Conservation may retain copies of the information for its archives.
Access and Updating of Information
You can update your information in the "My Account" section of this site or by contacting us. Primate Conservation will respond to any reasonable request by a user to review or amend his or her Personal Information held in our mailing list or database. Primate Conservation reserves the right to verify your identity in order to provide such access.
